Volunteering with Moreland Bike Users Group
Thursday 18 February 2010
THE BACKGROUND:For the past couple of years Moreland Council has participated in Bicycle Victoria's 'Super Tuesday' counts, but this year they decided to put the contract out to tender. The BUG was the successful tenderer, and will be organising the count to coincide with Super Tuesday on 2nd March. The count will assess the numbers of riders passing through a network of locations around Moreland during the morning peak, and the data will be used to inform the local cycling strategy and help direct Council funding to the areas where it's needed most.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
If you can spare a couple of hours between 7am - 9am on the morning of Tuesday 2nd March and would like to be a volunteer counter, head to http://sites.google.com/site/morelandbugcount/ and register your details. Training will be provided, and you will head off to work/school/the shops on Tuesday morning knowing you've done a great thing for your community (and your local BUG).
