Moreland Energy Foundation is exploring a range of exciting possibilities for decentralised generation in Melbourne that could see local small gas-fired power plants and solar panels providing energy across city sites, powering and heating community facilities, schools, hospitals and apartment blocks.By generating heat and power on a local scale and recapturing wasted heat or energy to increase efficiencies, we can reduce the cost of providing sustainable energy services.
Roadmap to zero carbon
Moreland Energy Foundation has also prepared a carbon management strategy for the City of Moreland, which provides a road map for Council’s target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25 per cent by 2012. It is also exploring how local government or other agencies can channel energy cost savings as offsets to support other local zero carbon initiatives.To find out more, please contact:
