Help make Moreland Carbon Neutral  
Callout for volunteers!


Zero Carbon Moreland is an exciting, first of its kind community-wide campaign which aims to engage the whole Moreland community in actions to reduce their greenhouse pollution to zero net emissions by 2030. As a first step, the Moreland Energy Foundation is now signing up 10% of Moreland households (that’s 5000 households) to reduce their emissions by 20% by 2010.  The more people we sign up the stronger the message we send that Moreland is serious about taking action on climate change

But to make this happen, we need enthusiastic volunteers who can help get the word out to the community!

Specifically we need volunteers who can spread the word by:

  • Speaking to their own group/events/class/workplace about the campaign
  • Speaking to people about the campaign on a Zero Carbon Moreland stall at a community festival or event
  • Putting up posters – in libraries, community centres, sports clubs, multicultural clubs, shopfront windows, community noticeboards
  • Handing out flyers - train stations, letter box drops, at large events or festivals
  • Telephone outreach to community groups/businesses to encourage them to circulate publicity materials to their staff/members
  • Assisting Zero Carbon Moreland participants with their carbon footprint
  • Undertaking creative actions and projects to draw attention to the campaign
  • Miscellaneous administrative help – from mailouts to data-entry, there’s a lot of work that’s needed to keep the campaign running!
You can do whatever activity(s) you are most interested in.  Every bit of help is needed for this campaign – even if it’s just a couple of hours.

Volunteers will be provided with reference letters to acknowledge their efforts, and will be reimbursed for any campaign related costs incurred.

Duration: 1.5-3 hours/week for minimum one month
