New parents groups

As part of the Zero Carbon Moreland campaign we have the pleasure of visiting new parents groups all across Moreland. 

Bringing a new baby home is an exciting experience and one that changes your perspective on life.  Not only do you have a gorgeous new baby to get to know, with all the challenges that involves, you may find yourself looking at your home and lifestyle in a completely different way. 

• You are home more and comfort becomes more important to you as you are keeping the baby at a comfortable temperature day and night. 
• Babies take a lot of time and generate a range of new domestic chores, so convenience may become more critical than it once was.
• The strive for convenience may lead to a whole range of new appliances being purchased or even to major renovations being undertaken on the house.
• Most parents lose income when they have children, during maternity and/or paternity leave and in the years to follow.
• At the same time, children are expensive and so a smaller amount of money has to be managed better.

These workshops aim to help parents of new babies to structure their new lives to encompass comfort and convenience, while keeping the spending on energy in check.  We have helped a number of local families who have been shocked to see their energy bills leap following the birth of their child.
